WORKS

Below you will find some examples of the work produced by Monster Glassworks. Under each heading there is a brief description of the type of work and links to some examples.

Windows

Architectural Windows
These windows are made from any combination of stained glass sheets, blown glass, and globs (the ends of blown glass). The pieces are wrapped in copper foil, reinforced, and soldered. A final piece can be set in a wood frame or glass frame. Wood frames often have glass dowels embedded in them for added appeal. This is a signature Monster Glassworks element. Many of these works are commissioned, but Monster Glassworks also develops pieces for standard-sized spaces like a door frame.

Rondel

Rondel
Whether resting on a windowsill or a plateholder, the rondel is a circular-shaped piece of blown glass that is often a centerpiece for discussion. Colors can be brilliant or subdued. Surface can have waves or be smooth. And the design can be abstract or appear as something existing in nature like a wave. Rondels are often the major element in an architectural window.

Cabinet Insert

Glass Inserts for Cabinets
Glass cabinet inserts are becoming a staple in kitchens. They can add color, texture, or even reinforce a decorative theme. Glass-front library bookcases are also a wonderful place to display hand-blown works.

Dishware

Dishware
Hand-blown dishware is surprisingly rugged (can be put in the dishwasher) and beautifully functional. Pieces include but are not limited to plates, platters, glasses, bowls, and vases. Since each piece is unique, a set of glasses will add dimension to your table setting found nowhere else.

Ash Glass

Ash Glass
The simply-named "Ash Glass" works are cremated remains (human or pet) encompassed in clear glass. Originally designed to celebrate the life of a family member, the ash becomes a work of art often appearing in the shape of shells or tornadoes. These pieces are one of a kind, kept straight forward so the ash is the focal point, and only requires a few tablespoons of ash. Ash Glass can be engraved.
